t56 all the same? 94-02?

t56 all the same? 94-02?

well if i wanna do a tranny swap can i only look at lt1 t56's or can look at the ls1s too?

Earlier ones are supposedly built with better parts, i.e. iron 3-4 shift fork vs aluminum in the newer T-56s

The LS1 versions of the T56 have a longer input shaft, and a completely different hydraulic clutch design ("pusher" for LS1's, vs. "pullback" for LT1's), that requires a slave cylinder mounted directly to the front cover of the tranny, concentric to the input shaft. There is no slave mount on the bellhousing, nor fork ball on the front cover. Bolt pattern to bell housing is different. So... no, the 94-97's can not be directly replaced by a 98-02.
