Do I have an ODBI or OBDII?

Sorry for stupid question..but I have a 95 TA with single cat(2 O2's)...and the plug under the steering wheel. Can you tell me which one I have, or do you need to know what exactly the plug looks like?

Also, If its OBDII, I found some scanners on ebay for liek 50 bucks that shows the codes only. How much more are the scanners that will show you what all is wrong with your car, like why its running rich and stuff(if those exist)

Thanks

Before buying a scaner make sure you don't have the OBD2 plug well that don't really matter you just have to make two jumper wires to use the scaner. http://shbox.com/1/dlc1.jpg the one on the top is the OBD1 style Plug the one on the bottom or in color is the OBD2 style plug. But you car is OBD1 no matter what plug you have.

You have an OBD1 PCM but a OBD2 style connector under your steering wheel.

If you already have dual cats, then your car is a 95 cali emmision car.

Thx,
Claude

As stated above, you have an OBD1 computer with an OBDII style ALDL connector. California A4 cars are dual cat, California M6 cars are single cat.
