T-56 Swap in a 93
T-56 Swap in a 93
Ok, the guy I'm buying another 93 T/A from did a M6 swap into it and here's the question:
The tranny is a 94-97, and as we all know is geared differently than a 93. Will this throw the speedo off? He corrected the computer for the six speed, and I know there's a VSS on the tranny, but will it really throw the speedo off? If so, how could I possibly go about compensating for the difference, short of finding an M29 93 T-56 (because the car has factory 3.23's)?

Yeah, you can't do tuning to correct the speedo on a 93. I'm more interested to know if the VSS is receiving the wrong signal throwing the speedo off or not. I don't think it's off because the stock rear 3.23 gears are still there. Via my own thinking, the speedo should be good since the tranny gearing should only have an affect on how hard the car pulls, not the speedo signal.
