t-56 problems...locked up and won't go into 5th,6th, or reverse

Ok, last time out to the track my driveshaft broke at the top of 3rd gear and ejected out the side of the car. Ok..no big deal..I prolly cracked it off the line and it just sheered off when the Ds rpm got so high. I got a new 3.5" alum DS and a billit yoke and was ready to go back in. When I got it back together and went to bolt up the u-joint on the rear end I found I couldn't turn the tires(turned fine with no DS). So..I left the driveshaft hooked up and droped it on the ground and put the shifter back on. The car won't role in nutral. I can feel it shift into 1,2,3,4,but it will not go into 5th or 6th or reverse. Any idea what this could be? Last summer i broke the outputshaft at the rear of the tranny. Input shaft and output shaft both feel sturdy.

Looking for a clue to what this is guys

Thanks

Tim

there is a lot of stuff that could have bent in there (shafts)
it seems like you should take this to a tranny shop

Doh!

That's what you get for being hard on it, Tim!

Might be the countershaft and broken gears...When my T-5 blew up and did those things, the countershaft was the culprit.....

Not a cheap piece...

Good Luck.
