Synthetic Oil with manifold leak...

I know there have been hundreds of posts about oil and what not but hopefully this is a little different. Right now my intake manifold is leaking and I should get it fixed but the funds wont allow for it right now. The leak is not too bad although I do need to keep a constant eye on the oil level. My question is will synthetic oil leak out faster than conventional oil? I thought I read somewhere that it might but I wanted to make sure before I made any decisions. Also, will it make any difference going from conventional to synthetic oil? My car has almost 55k on it now if that matters and I was wanting to switch to synthetic because it seems like most people are using that now. Thanks for the help in advance.

Probably won't make any difference what oil use if you have a leak.
Won't hurt to change to dino oil---I use 10w-40 in my 97 and I only have about 1000 miles on the engine. The quality of oils today is such that a good brand dino oil will do the trick for less $$.

Consider getting that manifold leak fixed before you wind up with no oil and a broken motor. JMHO

Try to change it yourself. It doesn't take much time to pull the intake manifold. You can get it done in a day easy and its not hard to do. You'll save a ton of money too.

Yeah, do it yourself, all you need is new intake manifold gaskets and some red RTV. Shouldn't take more than a few hours.
