Switching Catbacks...Question
Switching Catbacks...Question
I am switching from an SLP Loudmouth to a Hooker catback on my '96 Trans Am. For the Loudmouth, I needed an adapter for the hangers, so am I going to have to switch back to make the Hooker catback work? (I dont have the original parts anymore). The adapter can be seen at the link below. The two pieces on the left are hangers for the driver side tailpipe (hook bolts to the car and the included rubber hanger hooks onto it) and the piece at the right bolts onto the LM just after the axle and then slides into a rubber hanger. If anyone knows the answer, please help.

Re: Switching Catbacks...Question
Thanks for the input. After looking around my garage I was actually able to find the original hangers, but I will still check to see if you actually need to originals to let anyone know who might be wondering. Thanks again.
Re: Switching Catbacks...Question
Yeah, you need the original hangers. The stock hangers have the hanger off of the driver side tailpipe as a flat metal bar (just like the one behind the axle). The SLP adaptor changes the driver side rubber hanger to accept a small round hanger off of the tailpipe.
