I need tos wap header gaskets and I am wondering what would be the quickest, easiest way to do it.

Of course, I'd like to just take it to a shop and have them do it - but how much would they charge? Is it a 2, 4, 6 hour job?

If I tackle it myself, do I have to unbolt the y-pipe first, or can I just leave it on, unbolt the headers, slide the gasket out, and bolt them all back in?

I have MAC shorties - can anyone chime in with their MAC header gasket experience and how long it took?

 

Since you have MACs, they should be pretty easy to remove. It's just a matter of pulling the headers. Once they are off, you should use a fine grit sandpaper to the cylinder head flange to remove any gasket material left over.
