Swapping a 96 LT1 in a 95 TA

Hey guys I was recently involved in an accident that damaged my 96 ws6.

I picked up a 95 Trans Am roller with no engine wiring harness and was planning on swapping in the 96 motor/trans and obd2 harness.

I tried searching but can't seem to figure out if I can do this or if I will need to swap all the wiring over including the dash and body harness.

Swapping over the dash and body harness seems like an extremely difficult task. Has this been done before and can someone point me in the right direction?

Why not just get a 95 PCM and harness, and hook it up to the 96 engine? The only minor problem will be the need to swap a 93-95 knock sensor into the 96 engine. Its cheaper to tune OBD-I, less obnoxious emissions diagnostics and codes, and the 95 PCM and engine harness will be totally compatible with your 95's body harness. There will be a couple connections you can't make between the 95 harness and the 96 engine (EVAP system vacuum detector, CKP sensor, after-cat O2 sensors), but you don't need those things anyway.

Thanks Injuneer, does the pcm and harness have to be out of a 95 or can it be a 94/95?

I agree that it is easier to tune an obd1 car but I wanted to do this swap as cheap as possible since I have everything. This car is mainly a daily driver so having an obd1 pcm is not a huge deal to me.

However, if I have to swap the whole body harness, it might be easier to just go the obd1 route so I will consider that option too.

Finally, would it have to be a 95 PCM and wiring harness or could I just swap the PCM and use my 96 harness?
