I would like to put some new injectors on my 160k+ car. And was looking at the SVO injectors since they're cheaper. I was wondering if I would have to have my pcm programmed since the LT1 has higher pressure? I thought the computer would fix it since its not off much, but I read in a post they would make the car run richer. I'm trying to improve my gas mileage some.

If you run a 24# SVO at 43.5psi, it will flow 25.298 #/HR. The flow constant in the stock PCM tune is 24.896. The PCM should have no problem adjusting for the 1.6% difference in flow. I ran the FMS/SVO 24's on a stock tune with no problems.
They will not have any affect on gas mileage though.... niether better or worse. Of course if your 160K mile stockers are leaking or dirty, things might improve.

If you plan on further mods you might consider stepping up to a larger size now WITH programming just so you don't end up having to buy larger ones later and end up with the 24s as leftovers. It is suprizing how quickly we can max out injectors. I have just a small ZZ3 cam with springs and 1.5 roller rockers for internal engine mods and while the stock injectors have been a little over 80% duty cycle for awhile the recent addition of longtubes pushed them a little farther and the recent cold weather pushed them over the edge, I exeeded 100% duty cycle and they would not feed it enough fuel and she noses over hard. I knew I was getting to the point where I had to think about injectors, just didn't realize I was cold weather away from having to have them.

Well, I already replace the stock fuel injectors with Racetronix Delphi/Lucas 24 lbs.....plug and play set.
They use a disc instead a "pintle".
I'm pleased with them as far as Fred (Injuneer) has stated.

Additional Information:
Top feed disc injectors use a small disc with six holes around its circumference. The disc rests on a short chimney that surrounds a metering hole. As the disc is raised off the chimney by magnetic force, fuel flows through the holes in the disc, over the walls of the chimney, and out the metering hole to form a full, finely atomized cone.
Performance advantages over pintle injectors (i.e. Ford / Bosch & Accel types) as listed by Delphi:
• The flat mating surface ensures that no excess fuel is present to evaporate and therefore, no deposits or clogging can occur.
• Compatible with alternative fuels (i.e. Methanol)
• Longer service life
• High-speed disc action allows wider dynamic flow range for improved idling
• Quieter operation
• Revolutionary disc design resists build up deposits which can affect fuel flow.
• No Fuel leakage for quicker starts

I've waited on injectors until I got my roller rockers. Now that there done I want a mail order tune. That way I can have it tuned for everything at once. Well I have searched alot over the past few days to see if its worth going to 30# now. I've came up with mixed results. I read stock injectors are only good to 310fwhp and some say 340+rwhp. Madwolf said he didn't recommend 30# for stock or bolt on car. And others say do it right the first time. I'm more confused now than what I was before. Which should I get 24 or 30?
