Does A/C condenser need removed for cam install?

Does A/C Condenser need removed for head /cam install? Or can The compressor lines remained hooked up and just wire compressor out of the way? I've heard most people removed the condenser but it seems some have gotten away without removing the freon or disonnecting the a/c lines.
Anyhow is it possible to do the cam swap portion or must the condenser be removed? Thanks.

You do not need to move the compressor, but the condenser has to come out.

You can tilt it up and out of the way if you're careful. I did my cam swap without discharging the AC.

You can look at the guide on my Tech Page. I just moved the condenser out of the way. No discharging the system. You have be gentle with it.
