Suspension/lowering question

I have a 96 Z28 with 31k miles riding on 17" 10 spoke SS rims. This is my daily driver but as you can see I don't put alot of miles on it. I do mostly drag racing but do like to put it through the corners once in a while.
I'm thinking of lowering the car. There is a kit offered by thunderracing that includes the springs, panrod, and control arm relocating brackets, I was also going to up grade the control arms and possiblly the torque arm at this point.

My question is should I replace the shocks at this point? and if so which one will work the best?

Also will I see a big improvement in my launch and handling with this mods?

Thank you for your input

I would recommend new shocks. Most people I have seen run bilstein or koni.I have edelbrocks on the rear and saving up for the fronts.I think you should really notice a difference in launching and taking corneres with new suspension.
