Surging...black smoke

So after the last few days of driving i have noticed my car will surge when im at idle...it surges about 200rpms and sounds like i have a nasty cam in the car. it also smokes a tiny bit when this is happening. but it doesnt always surge and it seems like it only does it after i have been driving a bit. I have ran leaded race gas a few times but not to much...maybe 6 gals at the most over the last 2 months...always mixed with a full tank of premium. so im thinking maybe the lead got to the o2's?? the motor its self has about 34k on it and the body has 104k...im not sure if the o2's have ever been replaced. is there anything else is can be? im not throwing any ses lights. back in december i had the car dynoed at it was running a bit lean...now it seems like its going rich when this happens....any ideas???

Re: Surging...black smoke

I'm 93.7% it's the o2's. Mine did the same after using tons of Torco race fuel addative. Ended up being the o2 sensors and I never got a solid code indicating it. The scanmaster saved the day by showing me my o2 readings. I think Injuneer once told me it only takes one time using lead to kill the o2 though they are rated for a couple of hours of use or so. Hook up freescan and go from there.

I wish you could hook something up to monitor the o2's. I'd change both o2's and the plugs.
