Kinda hard to make lots of power and keep decent gas mileage. You generally trade one for the other. Usually it's not that bad with a blower since you can run a smaller camshaft for street manners/gas mileage.

The hypereutectic pistons won't cut it for boost. You really do need a forged piston.

How the heck are you only getting 12 mpg with an A4/2.73s? You do know the gas pedal is more like a dimmer switch than an on/off switch, right?

And here's the pistons i was looking at, it would raise the stock compression of 10.5:1 to 11.6:1 Is that too much? Item number 648-H3418.STD (first one) on Jegs

Or even these here

Way to much.
You need a forged "D" dish piston.

Both sets of pistons are cast.

If you're going to do a FI build-up, you need forged.

haha!! i get 14 mpg and thats with romping on it a lot!

hey, i found this book in the local bookstore: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...756103-0299841. you can look at it at your local store or buy it on the website. either way, its got some decent information on supercharging, turbocharging and nitrous applications. there are a few other good books too if you look for them.

its not that i dont want to help you out, but you'll find a lot more general information in some of these books that will help you figure out how to get started planning a supercharged engine. these books will probably answer 90% of your questions.

Saweet thanks. Although i don't have the money right now (and it needs to go to other things...like a new rack and pinion) i really plan on rebuilding the engine and adding a supercharger.
