Do you feel any wobble in the steering when this happens? Or does the brake pedal pulse? Or possibly both? Severely glazed rotors, or less frequently a warped rotor(s) can cause both of these reactions, and give the braking an on-off-on-off....... feeling as the car slows down.

Re: Suggestions for a upgrade path

Well after paying full attention to what my car does when it breaks I found that it does sometimes. not everytime as I had thought. when it does "seem to bounce forward" it feels like the breaks are letting go but at the same time it feels like their applied. it kinda has a wobble to it but only if you are trying to notice it. one of my friends said that either the piston(s) are not fully working or the rotor is warped like said above by fred I believe. what are your guys thoughts or suggestions?? oh and a couple more things while we are trying to diagnose some promblems. my car has a slight shake when im stopped or in park. its really noticeable when I first start her up in the morning....is this normal or is it the engine mounts? and the last thing...what is the perfered idle RPM? mine idles at 800-1000 RPM's.

Stock program idle speed for the auto trans, engine fully warmed up, is 550 RPM in gear, 650 RPM in neutral. The stock tach may indicate 100-200 RPM above actual engine RPM. You have to read the RPM of the PCM using a scanner to see true RPM.

The slight shake could be a vacuum leak.Might check out Shoebox's site to run it down or go to fbtf.proboards.com/thread/11
Hope this helps.
