Suggestions for Stock computer CAM choice
Heres the skinny.. The is for my daily beater A 95' Z28 that's getting the motor freshend up and im thinking about adding a cam.. It has a 2400 stall, The heads will be ported, long tube headers, no cat, and a moroso Air induction.. But the thing is I really dont have the money at the time to spend $400-500 on tuning the PCM.. So what the best choice for a cam with still getting my moneys worth out of buying one?? Any suggestions would be great,, Thanks
Have you looked at the mail-order tuning from people like pcmforless, trifecta, or MadZ28? They don't cost $500. More like $125-175.

Spending a lot of money on parts, and then not having the PCM tuned for them is a waste of money.

not to be a dick, but the only cam that works well with the stock tune is the stock cam. you don't have to spend 400+ on a tune. there are people out there ie: pcm4less and madz28 (now known as madtuner) they are very accurate and charge around 150 for a tune.
If you plan on porting heads and adding a bigger cam, it should not be done without tuning in mind. If a tune is going to push your budget, then a cam may not be the best idea right now considering there are "supporting" mods that should be bought as well which will drastically increase the overall cost of the project.
