Stupid ABS prob still

Ok, so back in the day i had the LOW TRAC light coming on...did a search and found that it was probably my rear abs sensor. I took it out and cleaned it, and right after i put it back in my abs light comes on after i drive about 15 feet. So beign that it happened right after that i am/was pretty sure it has to have something to do with my rear sensor. Because the light comes on after a few feet of driving and not right away, it seems it has to be the sensor (to me anyways) because it waits for the wheels to spin before sensing problems. Is it possible my rear sensor is completely bad and this can happen, or if it was bad would the light always be on? I just got it up on my brand new rino ramps (still had to use 2x8's to get up because of the body kit) and cleaned the sensor more thoroughly (um yea thats right) but the problem is unchanged. I just degreased my undercarriage and it is drying now, while it was up there i unplugged and blew in the front sensors, but i dont think that is gonna do any good. Any input on this?
Thanks
Bill

Your sensor is prolly bad and it will need to be replaced. I had the same problem and I replaced the sensor and its all good now.

Scan it and stop wasting time guessing. If you don't have a scanner, Autozone can scan your OBDII 96. Then take the result to a shop manual and figure it out from there.

Some times all is not what it appears to be. I kept getting a 57 or 56 saying one of the ABS wheel motors was bad. After testing according to the manual it turned out to be the BCM. Got one for $25.00 from a junkyard and saved $600.00. And all is well for the past year and a half.

good luck

I would have gone to autozone, but they told me they only scan cars if the SES light is on. I figured they wouldnt do it for ABS then.

P.S. I plan on gettin it scanned by the dealership next week, i was just checkin ahead to see if i could save the $$

Are all your taillights working? I had a similar problem, and I had the two upper lights(the ones on the spoiler) and one taillight out. Once I replaced the bulbs, the problem went away. Just a tip.

Cool

I read where some sensors at the wheels get corroded, not sure though, might check them.Myo2(might replace some fuses on the left side of the dash, even if they look good to you).Cheap stuff first.
