anyone used a LS1 fuel tank?

I was at a friends shop yesterday and they were changing the intank fuel pump in a SS. The plastic LS1 tank is so much easier to take out than our tanks and it's plastic.
It has to weight a lot less and GM got smart and put a rubber neck on it so you don't have any problem pulling it right out.

Just wanted to know if anyone had used one of these tanks to replace ours. I'm thinking about trying it when I put in my 12 bolt

Thanks
Tom

If the flange for the LT1 pump/sender assy will fit the LS1 tank, then it might work. The LS1 delivery system is a little different and with a higher pressure pump.

This has been asked before, but I don't remember anyone ever saying they did it.

Perhaps I might try this. Can someone get me some info on this? I'm gonna have my tank out soon. I have a buddy who has a wrecked ls1 that got hit in the rear, not sure if the gas tank survived though!

I wouldn't be using anything except for the tank.

I looked like the Plastic tank used the same type of retainer ring except I'm not sure if it had any bolts.

If this doesn't work I'm thinking about just having the metal fill tube cut off my tank and replaced with a rubber one like the LS1 has but I would like to use the plastic tank.

I couldn't believe how much easier it went in and out than our metal tank

You could always use a plastic fuel cell.
