stupid a4 ?'s

Lets see trying to chase down a couple of ****.First off how off is the stock tack. From what I understand the computer shift points are at 5700 1-2 and 2-3 and 3-4 5500.My 1-2 is at 6100(on the tach) so in theory its off 400rpm.But 2-3 seems to be at 5700.Or is this my tranny getting ready to take a dirt nap.(1-2 )Second when does your converter lockup in 4th I am at 45mph and you guys.Just trying to figure out if my speedo is off. From the factory I have 3.23's so just thinking they were swaped with other gears but never calibrated.I have no idea what the hell I am saying now forgive me I am old and tired, and out of viagra.

Generally what I've ready says the tach is off by about 200rpm or so because it lags behind the motor...but that it isn't off as bad as the gears get higher...1st and 2nd is where its really off...after that its pretty much able to keep up...don't know how accurate that is but thats what I've gathered from all my reading on the subject. As for the speedo the only way to know for sure is either have it calibrated or figure out what gears you have and use a ratio to figure out how far its off.

My converter locks up at 45 mph also. I can't say for sure about the shift points. I need to get to the track to check that out.

one key sign is that the car will bounce off the rev limiter alot under WOT and in daily driving there will be a delay btw shifts (most of mine came in the 1-2), slipping is normal in a bad tranny too. unless your experiencing somethin of the such then i wouldnt worry about it, the shift points could have just been raised with a HPP programmer or somethin. if its shifting fine and doesnt slip i would say its ok. by the way i believe all stock TC's lock up at 45 (dont know about the high stall lockup convertors).

My TC locks up at about 45 mph as well.
My Tach seems to be reading pretty good.
I have my Accel rev limiter set at 6250 and the tach and the rev limit seem to be right on.
