There are 2 studs screwed into the back of the manifold, and a 1/2" nut on each of them that holds the EGR valve on. Tools required = 1/2" wrench. Like just about everything, Shoebox has a photo:

Oh yeah, can you guys tell me what tools do I need to get to replace the EGR valve? I see it sitting in the back of the engine. Is it just held on by 1 or 2 bolts? I'm gonna stop by autozone 2 nite to get whatever i need. THanks.
It shouldn't have been that way from the factory.

Lol you're right. I just checked it. The sim I put was the 2nd one on the left. And I think that was the problem!! I took it off and it was cracked. I think the heat got to it and fried it. Because it was ****ed up. The 1st one is fine and it's a flat connection like previously stated....lol.

I checked my codes again before I reset them and the computer was throwing p1441 too....****. Could that of been because of the 02 sim?

P1441 is an EVAP trouble code. Nothing to do with O2s.
P1441 Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) system flow during non-purge

Could be as simple as the hoses swapped on the EVAP solenoid (if maybe you were recently working with them).

It has nothiing to do with anything but the EVAP system. It is not related to anything else. P1441 is for the EVAP. The code says it is seeing vacuum when there is not supposed to be any. You say you changed the canister, but you post a pic of the solenoid that you said you changed. Did you change both? Did you check the hoses as I suggested? You can check for any charcoal in the lines that might interfere with the solenoid closing. If you find any charcoal, you need to clear out all the lines.

It's easy to get the hoses on the solenoid switched, or leave one off.

Ok GUYS! So i'm out there right now checking it out....I found a hose that was busted that connects some kind of metal hose that goes from the front of the intake manifold to the right side of the intake manifold. It looked like there was some valve in the side of intake manifold it was connected to. It easily came out when i was removing the hose, normal? (it was located directly to the lower left of vacum line that connects to the egr solenoid). Could that be related to the p0400 or p01441? I'm also trying to understand this hand held vacum trick, where to I apply the suction to? I tried the manual way of pushing the EGR valve to see if the RPM changes and it does, it goes down slightly but doesn't die.

I answered my own question. I guess that hose had nothing to do with the EGR code i'm getting. I replaced the hose and still getting the code. I checked the valve, it appears to be working, the vacum lines appear to be fine. Dunno what else to check. Time to take it to a shop?

if your having problems with the down stream o2s have them turned off at the obd2 you would need to take the obd2 to a computer tuner. as to the egr valve sounds to me that what you did manually that its working, make sure you dont have any vacuum hoses are not knocked off or cracked.

I tried to smog it right now and it failed due to high emissions @ 15mpg. The NO was at 725 and the max is 419. Damn
