You need to think about what your doing with this motor. To many times people build a "fully forged" bottom end so when they "jump on it" they wont break anything. IMHO if your just planing on building a heads and cam enhanced 383 making 400-450 rwhp, you can save a lot of money and use a cast crank, eagle sir rods and a forged piston. Put the extra money into heads and valvetrain. To often people build killer bottom ends only to run out of money and use some limp heads on it and only dyno 350 rwhp.....................but it has a fully forged bottom end. Before any build you have to think what YOUR going to use the car for. You can ask for a hundred opinions but thats just what your going to get. A hundred people telling you what YOU want. So in other words, unless your going with nitrous, forced induction, etc, I see no need in building a $2,000 bottom end. Just my .02 Eric L

Thats why I mentioned Eagle SIR rods, but not their crank, lol. Im not a big fan of their cranks either. But I dont think they will break when you slam the throttle. Eric L

If you are set on forged components, check out the Compstar line, produced by Callies. They are "imported" parts, but subjected to Callies rigid quality requirements. If you don't want imported, move up from the Compstar to the Dragonslayer.
