Stroker clearance with a Canton oil pan.

Are there issues with this. I've got my new motor runnin.. sounds good except a clacking noise that is most dominant from the oil pan area when i use a stethescope on it. Has anyone else here ran into the same problem.
TIA

Re: Stroker clearance with a Canton oil pan.

I have an Eagle forged 3.75 stroke crank, Eagle 6" h-beams with L19s and I had to clearance the crank scraper in 3 spots so it wouldn't hit. I checked my clearance with no pan gasket to be sure there was no interference when assembled.

Re: Stroker clearance with a Canton oil pan.

Using the Canton 15-242T pan on my 383 (6" Scat forged I-beam rods and Eagle cast steel crank), in addition to clearancing the pan rails, I had to grind out the scaper in four places to clear the rods. I also had to grind a spot on the scraper to clear the dipstick tube. I clearanced everything to .060".

Re: Stroker clearance with a Canton oil pan.

Thanks guys, That's what i figured it was. I was pressed for time when to get my car running and didn't get to check for clearance. But by the sounds of it, that's probably what my problem is. I've got the 13-080T Pan on mine but it has the crank scraper too so i'm sure that's where the problem is. Thanks again.

yeah defiantely the scraper, I just chalked mine up, and then dremeled the spots where the crank left a mark (did it with no gasket). No problems after that.
