I went to start my car, but when i turned the key only te accessories came on, but the engine wouldn't even try to turnover. I notice a "security" light in the cluster. The car finally started when the key was jiggled around in the ingnition. The security light stayed on for a little while, but then the ses light came on and has stayed on ever since.

I have no idea what this could mean, any advice would be appreciated.

 

My '97 did the same thing once, when I rolled it down the driveway to wash it. I didn't start but the accessories came on as well as the security light. After resetting the security system she started right up.

 

The pellet in the key wears down as well as the contacts in the ignition switch. You can either replace the key or the ignition switch as necessary or simply bypass the function all together.
