Strange O2 Readings

I just recorded the 02 readings using Freescan. Could some of ya'll check them out and see if they seem normal? My car is running rough at idle and shakes a little. The tachometer jumps up and down a little, maybe 25 RPMs.

I can include any other readings if it will help out more. Later tonight I'm going to try to get some WOT numbers and some from normal driving.

Re: Strange O2 Readings

I'm getting similar readings with freescan and it's throwing an O2 code. Mine's misfiring pretty bad at the moment but I believe it to be the optispark. It misfires worse when it gets hot and starts to backfire really bad. Last time my opti went bad, the code I got was "random cylinder misfire" so it makes me wonder if my opti really is bad this time. I have all the symptoms though... we shall see.

Re: Strange O2 Readings

Under what operating conditions did you get those numbers? At idle, engine fully warmed up, in closed loop????

If that's the case, the left side seems to be swinging normally from rich to lean, the right side appears to responding very slowly.

I think you have a BAD right O2 sensor at the very least.

Mine was doing the same thing so I threw a new O2 in it and it's still doing the same thing... $60 down the drain.

Re: Strange O2 Readings

These readings were at idle after the engine started doing the shaking thing.

What RPM was it doing the "shaking thing"?

It doesn't shake, it is just like the engine is running ruff and revs up a little bit. If you watch the tach you can see the needle move up and down every few seconds just a little bit. Total move is maybe 25 or 50 rpm's. It does it at idle, from 600-1000

Re: Strange O2 Readings

Ok I just recorded a few files. One at idle, normal driving, and 2 driving hard. Is there someone that can check them out here?

Mine's doing the same thing, except it's shaking a little bit thanks to a misfire. I think my opti is bad... I'll find out next week when I get my cam installed.

Re: Strange O2 Readings

right bank looks too rich. maybe a leaking injector or fuel pressure regulator. but if thats at a cold start up, then it doesnt matter. need to monitor at idle, operating temp, closed loop. the BLMs or LT trims would help alot more than the 02 readings.

if you have a misfire, an 02 code is very common to pop up. repair the miss then recheck the 02. check your plugs and wires before replacing the opti. heat kills wires.

Already checked 'em -- they all seem fine. I'll find out next week when my hotcam goes in.
