Stock Valve Covers

I'm getting ready to put things back together on my 95 z28
A4, after putting in a new piston pin and getting a valve job
ect... However, I came accross some roller rockers from summit
racing, and would like to know if I can use my stock covers with them? The number on the rockers is SUM-G6910-1 any help would be nice, as well as photos of aftermarket covers if I can't get away with stock.

Are those rockers self-aligning? If not, you can't use them with the stock valvetrain. If you still want to run them, you'll need pushrod guideplates and hardened pushrods.

The stock covers will generally fit aftermarket roller rockers. I checked that part # on the Summit website, and it has no information other than a part #, the fact that they are 1.5X and 3/8", and "not available". As pointed out in the post above, you need to see if they are compatible with the LT1 valve train. You need self-aligning, and you might want to consider going to 1.6X to get a little extra lift out of the cam.

I run Comp Cams Pro-Magnum 1.6 roller rockers (with guideplates and hardened pushrods) and they fit inside the stock covers with some minor trimming of the center-bolt support gussets. Aftermarket valve covers for the LT1/F-Body are fairly rare, since the F-Body setup requires a "dimple" on the front of the passenger side cover to clear the alternator.
