stock rearend durability

I've got a 94z a4 with 2.73 gears, 50k miles on the odometer (probably 240-250 rwhp). I'm thinking of going with 3.73's, but I'm worried about the durability of my stock rearend. not sure if I'm getting drag radials, maybe just goodyear gs-d3's in the future. other possible upgrades, in the distant future, include vigilante tc and bigger cam. also, how much does a performance rearend girdle help? I plan on going to the track a few times a year for the next few years!

You should be ok going with a 3.73 with your hp level. You start encountering more problems when you go with a slick and as your hp increases.

thanks for the quick response! anyone notice differences between brands of rearend girdles and stud kits? or does it not really matter what brand? (looking at TA performance)

Not much difference in brands. TA is good as any.

Your rear will be fine since you have an auto, stick shift cars are a lot harder on the rearend. If i were you I wouldn't waste my money on a girdle even if you're gonna run drag radials. The best though is the ta girdle.
