Stock ported vs none ported -Images
I had .021 taken off the heads and changed from a .051 head gasket to a .033 its between 11.7:1 - 12:1. I never said my car was 11.5:1. The Current car im building should be around 11.5:1.
I dont put alot of faith in dyno'ing a car. I just run it. If you want to see how slow my car is check out my youtube page. I went with a lower compression on his car so he doesnt have to run race fuel.

I simply didnt see many post out here showing the differnce between stock ported and stock. I got my method from a machine shop. The valve guide is maybe missing .2 inches from one side. Its not dished out. Plus The pictures are the rough cut on the heads. Its angled to go with the flow. My method seems to work and my heads must flow well to run as good as it does.
Thank you to those who understand what i was trying to share here. For a moment i thought i was on a import forum.

Stock LT1 heads flow very well; removing some metal probably makes them flow better and polishing the exhaust side definitely improves flow on a modded engine. In 1995 many photos on how to do it properly for max gain were posted on this board and others ...they were very instructive and detailed with flow bench data back up. Raising the top of the intake and removing metal from the lower radii were stressed to improve flow. All this is grueling and time consuming...making them - all 16 match is tricky without the CNC and needs constant micing. The 1995 and 1996 photos also included the LT4 for comparison and showed them modded too. They are probably still available if you do a search.
Most people go to boards like this to learn how to do things correctly NOT incorrectly!
I'm all for hot rodders experimenting, and trying new things, BUT you have to be able to measure your results!! Simply making claims by posting 1/4m times, HP numbers, or burnout video's PROVES nothing!
The remaining Guide is more then enough to support the Valve and keep it straight.
TheBlur: Then again, with those numbers I think you already have.
Hay, there your heads, if you want to send them to this guy, go ahead. But don't be surprised when your 400hp motor becomes a 375hp motor.
Get over yourself. Im not a professional. I however have done this to a few vehicles that run great at the track and on the street. The shop i took my heads to to deck them told me its fine to take a bit off the valve guide to direct air flow. They saw shaped around the valve guides and suggested i did it. they wanted a ton of money to flow bench the heads. i simply could not afford it.
