Stock LT1 Track Times

I look it up and I see high 14s, usually 14.8. That seems pretty sluggish for a car this powerful. What have you guys seen stock members run? Stock or with a few bolt-ons?

Re: Stock LT1 Track Times

Depends on weather, elevation, driver, track prep, weight, etc.

But yes, especially m6 cars you will see a lot @ 14.5 with 97ish trap speeds and some crappy 60' times.

But don't let that scare you, go to the track and see what its like. To that 17 second honda, a 14 second car is pretty fast.

Re: Stock LT1 Track Times

My 94 m6 car ran a 14.01 the first time I ever ran it. I think it was @ 99 or so mph.... its been 6 years! I was also cutting a sweet 60' time because I was racing at the track I worked at and they sprayed a little extra vht down. I had no traction problems at all! To be honest, I walked on the track after we sprayed it once and I lost my shoe. It stuck itself down! I also ran it about a year later, at a different track, and I was only able to hit a 14.2.

I run 13.9 to 14.1 depending on the weather here at 1800 ft. Mine is stock except for tune.

Ah. Nice nodnarb, what kind of 60' did you put down for that 13.2? I didn't know LT1's could put down times like that with only bolt-ons. Also did you get the premium gas tuning from Ion? All my car has is a catback exhaust, K&N intake and a TB bypass. How much improvement did you see?

Re: Stock LT1 Track Times

If your in a bone stock LT1 and your running slower than a 14.5 you either:

A- Suck at life
B- Cant drive
C- Need a tune up

Go do a tune up on it, take it to the track, and find out for yourself.

I've seen a bone stock CONVERTIBLE M6 go 14.06 on a 2.0 60ft. If he pulled a sub 2.0 60' he would have been in 13's. And I know this car did it because I seen it. If a convertible, which is a good 100lbs more than a hard top, can do it, a hard top, properly driven could click of a high 13 second run.

I just got my 94 Z28 2 weeks ago its a A4 with 90k on the clock. I took it to the track for the first time last night, and a pulled a best of 13.7 with a 2.00 60ft with just a SLP intake and I took off my muffler.

Impressive...

off-topic but can anyone explain why these wont fit 93 and what I'd have to do to make them fit.

These

I remember a thread saying all the differences of 93 and the other years but I cant find it.

14.8 is definitely conservative. My stock 97 Vert. did a 14.7sec. 1/4m, the first time out, and I was having launch problems. 2.2+ 60' times.

Mine went 14.02 @ 102 100% stock down to the paper air filter, in 95 degree summer heat. That was 7 years ago. Much has changed.

If you are in a bone stock lt1 it has probably never had a tune up. With heat and elevation and new drivers I have seen ls1 cars that couldn't get out of the 14s.
