It is normally said to be 300hp and 350tq but I have heard it stated at 280hp and 320hp. Always 350tq though.

Is that to the ground? And how much does 4400ft of elevation hurt that number?

Rampage, where did you get those numbers from?

Actually, flywheel HP for '96-'97 LT1's is 285 hp and torque is 325 ft-lbs, before that they were rated at 275 hp, but all years around the same power.

Actual rear wheel numbers depend on if you have a 6 speed tranny or 4 speed auto.

6 speed:
255 rwhp/290 rwtq

auto:
245 rwhp/280 rwtq.

There are online calculators to determine what altitude does to the power numbers.

Re: stock LT1 HP\TQ?

Ok that makes me feel better. I dyno'd my 383 and with 15:1 A\F and it poping and back firing during the pull I still put down more then a stock LT1. I've got an auto. and I had to replace the PCM cause my last one got water in it and shorted out. So I had to get another PCM and haven't tuned it yet. I'll get that done and strap her down again. I was talkin to some of the guys at the place i dyno and they were sayin that 15:1 is murder to my motor(no **** is what i was thinking) and the amount of power i was losing due to it, is huge.

Yeah, power loss, and your motor is running friggin HOT at 15:1. It's normal for a car to run around 14.7:1 at idle and cruising, but not at Wide Open Throttle. You should get it down to 13.0:1

Any Idea what the power loss is with a 15:1 A\F at WOT?
