Stock Flexplate Weight?
No I didn't. That is the weight for the Meziere.
Problem is, when you multiple post, you reduce the chances of getting an answer. You get confusion just like we have here. That's why we ask that you not post the same question multiple times. I moved the original post to "Drivetrain" because I thought that's where you would get the best chance at a knowledgable reply.
Good luck.

The first post didn't answer my question and this one has yet to do that also. I searched the archives and found no answer. All I want to know is what the stock flexplate weights on my car. I don't want to take it all apart to find my answer.
I have a stock flexplate in my storage locker that I removed from my 96 LT1 Vette. I can take it to the PO and weight it if it's REALLY important to you. Bit of a PIA, but I'll do it for you if you REALLY need to know and if no one else comes up with the weight for you.
Let me know.
Jake
So later today I'll weight it at the post office and post the results.
Jake
Replace the stock flexplate with a lighter one? it would be done for the same reason as a lightened flywheel. You'd be lowering the weight of something attached to the motor, therefore, the motor would do less work to reach higher RPM, THUS, quicker acceleration in RPM, more than likely resulting in a quicker acceleration in MPH

By going from just under 5 lb stock to 6 lb SFI approved - you are 1 lb more insured that your high powered engine won't destroy the flexplate.
Reasearching this was a great idea but it proved to me that the aftermarket plates are not too heavy as to reduce power by any noticeable amount.
