stock crank and rods???

im thinking about going ahead n taking my short block out while im waiting on the heads n cam n converter. mainly to replace the bearing and rings. while i have it out i might as well go ahead n put some forged pistons in it and what i wanted to know is, how strong is the stock crank n rods? i wont be making a whole heap of power but what power and rpm are they good to. i want to go with the 847 cam so will i be able to rev high enough to get the best it has to offer? ill be going back with ARP everything. just trynna make a good combo on a budget but dont wanna build a bomb either

If you get the rods and the crank reconditioned, you should be OK. The stock rods and crank are pretty damn strong, and as long as you have everything balanced, you will be fine. Good luck.
