stock cc head?

whats the size of the chamber on the stock heads? and are standard sbc 350 pistons the same as lt1's? I am thinking of going with keith black .30 over...

You looking for a 12:1 compression ratio. If so, those pistons will get you there.

Some say 54cc, and some say 58cc? I thought Lloyd said mine were 54cc.

ehh I think 12:1 is a bit high, especially for premium pump and stock 29k bottom end.

any suggestions then? highest I can go, on pump fuel.

I did 3 sets of LT1 heads so far and all 3 were right around 54cc.

Do some research. If running a big cam you can run a higher static compression ratio than stock. To much to explain here on how it works. The short of it is that longer duration cams bleed off some of the compression.
