Stock cam rpm limit?

What is the maximum that you rev your stock LT1 cam? And what happens when you reach the limit? Does the motor just go flat and not want to go anymore?

This is regardless of any RPM/PCM shut off...

Just curious?

Re: Stock cam rpm limit?

Using stock heads and a little after market cam upgrade my engine still fell on its face around 5400. You can set shift points a little higher, with LT1edit for instance, and feel it sort of float wen it revs past peak power. Horsepower curve must go right off a cliff. I think the heads are the limiting factor.
