steering shaft

steering shaft

i am having trouble taking the steering shaft assebly off. i took the boot off and the two bolts. i thought it would just slide off but i suppose i was wrong. can anyone help me in telling me how i can take it off and/or what i am forgetting.

Spray it with WD40, or something like that, and let it sit for awhile. I am sure that it is just stuck on.

They tend to get rusted together. The assembly "telescopes", meaning that one end is supposed to slide into the other. As stated above, soak it and you might need to tap it with a hammer.
