Pin Drive or spline drive??

Pin Drive or spline drive??

I just recently purchased a Lt1 383 stroker with about 450+ HP. My question is do i need the pin drive distrubtor or the spline drive? My old engine was a stock Lt1. any help would be great. Thanks

It depends on what style cam was used as the opti is driven off the end of the camshaft. LT1's had both styles, 93-94 were spline driven, 95-97 were pin driven.

ok well mine was a 94. So that means i would need the spline drive then correct?

If you want to reuse your 1994 opti, then you need a cam with the spline drive. What cam type was installed in the 383?
