steering problem???

You need to find out whats wrong before you find out how much its gonna cost. Cheapest way to diagnois the front end is to take it to any muffler shop and have them check it out first.
Also, check the new tires psi because for some reason every time ive gotten new tires they always set it at like 45 psi because thats what the sidewall says on it. But the door tag says 30 to 35 psi and thats what you go with.

Would the rear tire PSI make have an effect on the steering being loose? On the way home from work today I was doing about 70 on the on ramp...a straight line pretty much and its what I normally do it at, and I damn near lost control of the car....it felt like I was about to start spinning...anything else it might be? I am gonna check the PSI.

Yes , tire psi will definetly cause a car to handle strangely. It only takes about a 5psi difference in the front wheels to make a car pull to one side and its more pronounced the faster you go. Also check your lugnuts, even not torqueing them back on correctly can screw with how it handles.

Did you rear end slide out on you? Sounds like it may be more of a tire issue than a steering component issue.
What tires are they, and what is the pressure at, in all 4 of your tires. It should be around 30 psi cold.(around 35 psi hot)

If you have slop in the steering wheel (left to right) when your car is completely stopped then it's either your tie-rods or the rag joint. This topic has been discussed about 3 times in the past month so do a search for "rag joint" and you'll find relevant posts.
