steam pipe leak

looks like the steam pipe on the back of the head on the right side is leaking from where the pipe goes into the fitting that is bolted to the head, i called the local gm parts place and was told it was discontinued any body know if this can be purchased anywhere or what should be done to fix this (brazing, jb weld, duct tape)

Re: steam pipe leak

You can probably find a used one on ebay.
You can also post in the parts wanted section.

That's a good deal. Also, make sure the washers are replaced on the banjo bolts.

Another option is to buy some brass fitting and make one out of rubber hose with a tee. I did that on my LT1 and it was much easier to pull on and off.

Re: steam pipe leak

Please don't post parts for sale in the "tech" forums. Take the dealing to a PM.

It's really easy to make your own. Just use 1/4" NPT fittings on the back of the heads (tap the threads using a pipe tap so they seal properly) and some -6AN fittings/hose. There are several ways to do it, so just get creative.

Some SS Braided Hose and Fittings look so much nicer and professional. And they're only a little more expensive.
