LT1 intake leak
After an OK night at the track (headers and y-pipe added and no time subtracted) I get home and park the car. The next day I was planning on sweeping out the garage and pull both cars out. There is a small puddle of oil the size of a quarter. I get out the mirror and sure enough the D@MN leak is back. I fixed it in the spring of 01'. What is the best way to fix it once and for all, and don't be a smart @ss and tell me to get an LS1. I'm really pissed at this!!!

cory, did you clean off the intake/block real good w/brake parts cleaner? if not thatn thats prolly why its leaking again. retorqueing it would be good too. also, sure you got a thick enough bead on the block? it should be about 1/4" round so it will squish a little when you put the intake back on.
on another note, did you get tuneing after your headers? shouldnt really need it, but that will also help. did mph change at all? almost impossible not to improve horsepower at all.
anyway, good luck.

Before you lay down the bead of RTV, take a center-punch, and make a line of dimples in the mating surface on the block, This will give the silicone something to grab on to.

Thanks for all of the help. I cleaned it really good this time with cleaner and I put a real good bead on it too. I haven't fired it yet, I want to make sure it is dry.
As for the headers, the only difference that I got was I dropped my 60ft time to 2.010. My mph was the same, but I was consistent 13.72,3,4. After I get this fixed I'll head back and see if this leak had any effect on my times.
