Steam Line

Where does the steam line from the heads connect into the cooling system on your F-body's. Do you guys have that surge pot that Corvettes have as well?

Re: Steam Line

Depends on the year of the F-Body, but there is no surge pot.

1993-94 it goes to a connection on the radiator end tank, right under the radiator cap.

1995-97 it goes to the coolant connection on the bottom of the throttle body.

Check the diagrams (#16 and #18) on Shoebox's page:

Re: Steam Line

On the b-bodies it goes through the TB then to what you are calling a suge pot but it is actually a circulating part of the system and is where the pressure cap is located. We usually bypass the tb and run it right to the tank.

No Dwayne, not a surge pot. I think it is a sludge pot. I checked.
