Yeah, but I have the motor I am building already sitting on a stand half torn apart, and by the time I got the hotcam in the car, I would be ready to start building the motor and be out 600 bucks. I think this will get me well into the 11's on n2o, maybe even 10s. Block zero decked, mahle forged pistons, scat forged i-beams, all arp hardware, custom breat bauer cam similar to le2 cam, and a 150 shot. Maybe some minor weight reducion to. Also, all bolt ons.

a hotcam is only ~100-150 not the lt4 KIT, just the cam.

you should see high 10's with that setup.

WOW, man I am in the exact same boat with my 95 M6LT1, I love the car to pieces and it is kind of a piece of my life beings how I have it goin on 2years...I'm a senior in highschool and an Lt1 f-bod was all I could afford workin part time... THis May I will go full time and also joing Air National Guard and will have the sighning bonus to play with...Right now I'm leaning more to buying an M6 Ls1 WS-6 car just becuase it would be some different and I agree with you and the others on here who say its worth it becuase the Ls1 is already so far ahead and potential......But then my mind allways thinks about how great it would be to be nown as the guy around town with one of those "not as mean" lookin Transams that is fast *** hell pushing 450ish hp!!...Decsions LOL!

i've seen people run a 150 shot on top of a cc306 on the stock short block.
What kinda times have you seen people get outta that 150 shot on the cc306?? I gotta buddy with that cam and most of the supporting mods and he was looking at ethier a 100 or150 shot of juice this summer...

He hasn't ran it at the track yet... for some inane reason, he only sprays on the street... so no times.... he still has stock heads/intake and run's a 7.7 in the 1/8.

He is also trying to blow his motor... he wants a reason to rebuild it....

A friend of mine had a stock bottom end with cc306 sprayin a 125 and pulled best of low 11's. He was trying to dip it down into the 10's but started a new motor. He also has some weight reduction. I agree, I think the LS1's look a lot better, but having an LT1 that can rape cobras and the like would be sweet. I am maybe looking at a scat crank. I need to talk to Bret Bauer some more about it. He is helping lead me in the right direction for the specs on the cam and the n2o. Sorry if this doesnt belong in the tech section. I got 3 hours of sleep last night and my mind isnt all there...Please move if needed.

Stock for stock the LS1 has much more potential. I mean that if you do full bolt ons and a cam but no headwork you will make much more power with an LS1. But if you are planning to do the mods to the motor that you are describing then it wont matter LT1 vs LS1. The aluminum block maybe a little lighter, and the ignition system is light years ahead of the LT1, but you would have to remodify everything or spend a lot of time swapping parts. Stick to the LT1.

sounds familiar, i knew a guy that had a stock bottom end and heads with a cc306, ran ran pretty quick...high 11 on motor, he never got a clean pass but it had 10's on spray(6.80 1/8 mile)...missing front rear bumper supports/ac heater and sway bar
man his lt1 would kill cobras al day long, even a few making over 620 rwhp...from a roll!
