starting problems

i have a 94 z28, it recently started having hard starts, it takes about 8 seconds to start. It just keeps turning over and finally kicks. A hard turn now a weak one. i recently changed out the plugs, fuel filter and wires. I still have the problem, any suggestions???? is it the starter? please pm me?

Just check the fuel pressure. Its the easiest way to eliminate that. It may be a weak battery or something went wrong with your tuneup.

The fuel pump check valve is a pretty common thing to fail and can lead to hard starts. Shoebox has a writeup on how to check your fuel pressure: http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech2.htm...essure_testing Once you put the key in the run position, the fuel pressure should jump and and remain steady. If it bleeds down rapidly, then you have a problem. Also, leaky fuel injectors or a faulty fuel pressure regulator can be an issue as well.
