changing valve springs

im going to be chaging my springs soon w/ heads on. would i be wrong in assuming i could do the swap the same way as a valve adjustment? what i mean is, can i bring #1 tdc and do all valves that are closed and then rotate the crank and do the rest of them? seems like it would save time over bringing each cylinder to tdc seperately.

You need to know what cylinder you are bringing to top dead center and that method will work as the piston will act as the support for the valve. Shoebox, as always, has an excellent writeup outlining the procedure: http://shbox.com/ci/valve_spring_swap.html
