Starter wiring

On the 94 Camaro starter wiring there are 3 wires within the small loom that goes to the starter motor, battery cable, purple stater cable and one other with a ring teminal, can anybody tell what that's for and where it goes?

I believe it could be the ground that goes to the block above the starter.

the big one goes to the battery.

the purple one goes back inside the car and that's connected to your vats relay.

the little ring black one gets grounded right near the starter on the block

just looking for some clarification cause i just put the engine back in my 94 camaro.

as far as the connectors on the starter, big one on the top bolt, purple to the small bolt, and black goes from the harness to the block?

i put all 3 wires on the starter and the car gets power, but wont crank. When I trie to crank i lose all power. Pretty sure i messed up a ground somewhere.

The purple solenoid wire comes from the “theft deterrent relay” (TDR). That part of the Pass-Key II (VATS) system:
