hey guys, havent posted on here in a long while but i have a quick question

I finally finished building my 355 and put it back in my 93 trans am this weekend and went to crank the car for the first time and all i heard was click click click, so i put the battery charger on it and let it sit for a few minuts and still all i got was clicking so i took the starter off and accidently touched the 12 volt to a peice of metal on the frame and it sparked. I got back in the car and tried to turn the starter over and got nothing so i checked all my fuses and they were all fine. I can manually jump the starter off but i get nothing with the key.
Any suggestions because i am just stumped. Sorry for rambling on!
