starter install
Re: wtf starter install
Disconnect a battery terminal first. Unbolt the two starter bolts, one long and one short. I have Kooks LTs so the starter slips right out. (I've heard that sometimes with shorties you have to remove the exhaust Y-pipe first.) Then remove the 2 wires connected to the starter and you're done. Reverse the order to install. Also some have shims between the starter and the block to help the starter gear mesh correctly with the flywheel/flexplate gear.
I've gotten pretty good at this over the last year as my motor was eating stock/reman LT1 starters...We'll see what happens to the LT4 in there now...

Re: starter install
go to AutoZone and get on with a lifetime warranty, then you wont have to buy another one agian, I think they are around $150. I had to change my 2 weeks ago in a parking lot with a scissor jack, it wasnt to fun, but I got it done, the Pacesetters made easy acess to it
Re: starter install
When you put the new one back in and hook the two wires back up to the new starter, make sure the wires both come in from diffent directions so they won't "jump spark" across each other. If you don't, once you hook the battery back up your car will begin to start on it's own...
