SS Airbox @#$%*!

Hi all, I've purchased a SS Hood and Airbox (both GM) for my 94 Z28. But the ******* airbox won't fit because of the ******* fuel lines. Is there some kind of mod I need to make? I assumed the airbox would bolt right up!

After looking it over some more maybe I need a new elbow, a shorter one. Does anyone know if the 96-97 SS cars had a different one?

sometimes its a pain to get the holes on the air box base to line up with the fuel rail holes to bolt to the intake. like the other guy said, under the fuel lines with the bend on the base . yeah some pics would be helpfull.

Nope. I got rid of mine years ago in favor of a LPE CAI. Can't remember how the lines ran though. Most of the reason why I got rid of it is because it became warped from engine heat soak so the air filter did not seat correctly and it was ALWAYS in the way and needed to be taken off to do the simplest of things.

You know... now that I'm thinking about it I believe the lines ran through the loop of the airbox. As in above the bellows, between the intake and tube running to the airbox, underneath... if that makes any sense whatsoever...
I'll see if I can dig up a picture of mine sum'rs...

I was gonna say... I googled all kinds of SS's, but not one single underhood pic. I even went to Brent F's page and found all kinds of pics of a throttle body outside of the engine bay, but no pics under the hood.

did you think the cai made the car run any better than the ram air? I am thinking of using a cai because it seems hot weather really slows the car down

I have no idea. I didn't buy it for performance reasons. I've always been told the SS intake is positioned on a very dead spot on the hood so its effectiveness is allegedly less than sub par.
