SS Air Filter with SS hood on a Z28?!

hey Guys!!
I want to put a SS Hood on my 96 Z28. And of course i want to change the air Filter location to the SS position, because i want it functional. But until now i've only seen the SS airfilter with the stock paperfilter. Is there any company who produces performance air filters? Like K&N. I already have a K&N Filter installed but in the stock location. Can you buy a conversion Kit from Z28 to SS hood? And are there performance air filters for the SS air box?
Thank you very much!!

I don't think the Jeep one is a good investment. From what I hear they don't fit correctly and some have had problems with a small amount of water getting into the intake.A lot of people stick to the stock paper element or just switch to a normal cold air setup.

I did the conversion from a Z28 to an SS and I went to a local shop to buy the K&N filter. The one that fits the Z's was a little to small. I browsed through them and found one that fit. It is
PN 33-2018. Granted its not made for that airbox, but it fits real good!! Hope that helps!

I've been considering an SS hood, too, but I'm wondering if it's worth any productive gains with the cost involved. GM Restoration Parts has the hood and functional filter kit but it's $999.00, unpainted.

Not to diminish your thoughts, but if you're looking for gains with the "functional" SS setup you're not going to see any; you'll get more HP outta a CAI setup.

Otherwise, I thought the SS's came with a stock K&N? although I mabye mistaken.
