Angry sputter around 4000rpm

i am having a sputter around 4000rpm,
it was happening allot worse before, i ran a 15.1 in the quarter, but since then i got new wires, and it fixed most of the problem, gettin me a 14.20 , it still has a sputter i cant figure it out, also the gas mileage sucks 13.5mpg, around town driving. i was wondering if it could be a bad/dirty injector.
could i clean the injector? what should i do? there is no service engine soon light.

what u all think i should do/check

It could be a fuel filter. Try replacing that. I have a problem with my fuel pump, but there was a pretty drastic change in acceleration.

How are the plugs? There are MANY things that could cause your symptoms. Get some logs of the car.

when i first started having the problem i changed the fuel filter, it didnt help at all, so i put new plugwires in it. fixed 70% of the problem, i went and put new tr55 plugs in her, and still sputters in the upper rpm range. i dont know if its me but it seems like when its hotter it sputters more. sometimes if i floor it it will rev up to like 4000rpm and act as tho its hitting a rev limiter or something, but sometimes it will be somewhat smooth.

thanks for the replies

my car is a 95 lt1 with 91000 miles
ive had it for a couple months, i cnanged the oil twice. i take care of her as best i can

I noticed mine doing this lately. I only noticed it after I put the cutout on. When I close it I can’t tell as bad. It does it the most in second gear with light load or WOT in second. It is kind of strange. I was kind of hoping it was a rich need to retune thing. I does run rich! I am going to check the wires in the dark to see if there is any arcing.

Did you change the coil wire too? Many high rpm hesitations are cured by changing it. Also, try checking the coil. There is a description of how to do it here.

i thought i would try seafoam,

i went to napa and bought some seafoam, well it must not be my day cuz i had the can sitting in my engine bay, and i went inside to grab my squeeze bottle for it, and when i came out the wind had blown the hood down crushing my seafoam. it splatered everywhere, i washed the front body , and used a towel to soak up most of the other stuff.
can seafoam damage my clear coat?
i was freezin my *** off. i did get it cleaned up tho,
tomarrow il get a new can and be extra careful

also, does anyone know where i can get seafoam besides napa?
is it normally $7.81 ish?

In this case I'd go straight for the opti. Droff - sounds like you're getting knock retard. Get an LT4 knock module.
