Spun bearing....help inside
I realized I had a spun bearing after a 20 mile freeway trip and drove it back home. Oil pressure stayed good and really did not make any noise until you got close to idle. Crank was pretty gouged, though. It did have the occasional squeak sound, too.
Funny, when I pulled it up on the ramps to start my engine removal, it was not making any noise at all.

personally i don't think its a spun bearing from the way you describe it, but i'm not there to listen to it. also i don't think you could drive it 50 miles and still have any oil pressure left afterwards. once they start spinning they make a herendous squealing noise you can't mistake for anything else. the thing that does concern me is the glitter in your oil.

Cut a pretty decent (.08) groove into the crank.
