Sprak plugs popping out!

Anyone else have problems where they tighten down their plugs and then like a month later go to do something and one or tow of them is only finger tight/loose in the spark plug hole? This keeps happening. It happened once on the drivers side and twice on the passengers. I dont want to overtightne the plugs in the blxok since they are aluminum heads.

Re: Sprak plugs popping out!

I bet your installing the plugs dry, meaning no lube on the threads. Whenever you screw anything together use some lube. Screwing the plugs in dry is not good because you may think that they are tight when there not, because of dry threads and you also run the risk of stripping the threads. The motor vibration will loosen them over time.

Use some anti seize on the threads. This will act as a lube and aid in removing them later.

I had the same troubles with my ngk tr55's and i used anti sieze. I just tightend them up so many times and sooner or later they stayed tight, or maybe i just stopped driving the car and they seemed to stay tight?

You didn't overtighten and accidently strip them out?
