Hey guys, this week I'm buying a used shortblock with 90k. I know that's kind of high but I can't afford to have the rest of the machine work done or get it assembled right now on my other engine, so this seems like something to get my car back on the road until then. I'm going to pull the oil pan and install a new pump and pickup already. But I was wondering, I have a ground and polished stock crank and also new Clevite 77 main and rod bearings just sitting waiting for my new engine that I can't afford right now. Could I switch cranks and put in my new bearings without having to do any machine work? Or if I went that far, would I have to have the block cleaned and all that other stuff done? Thanks.
